Safety First

Not at all! Our catskiing trips are designed for all skill levels. If you're new to backcountry skiing, we start with beginner-friendly terrain and provide comprehensive safety training on day one. Many of our guests have never been off-piste before — our guides will teach you everything you need to know.

Our guides are trained in avalanche rescue and carry all necessary equipment. Before each run, we assess terrain stability and avoid high-risk areas. Every guest is equipped with a transceiver and trained in its use. In the rare event of an avalanche, we conduct immediate search and rescue while coordinating with local emergency services via satellite communication.

You'll need your own skis/snowboard (or rent locally), appropriate outerwear, and personal items. All safety equipment (transceiver, probe, shovel) is provided by us. We recommend fat skis or powder boards for the best experience. A detailed packing list is sent with your booking confirmation.

Yes, comprehensive travel insurance covering off-piste/backcountry skiing and emergency evacuation is mandatory for all guests. We recommend policies that include helicopter rescue. We can help you find appropriate insurance if needed.

We maintain a maximum 1:6 guide-to-guest ratio. This ensures personalized attention, better supervision in challenging terrain, and a safer backcountry experience. For advanced groups or special terrain, we may add additional guides.

Safety comes first. If conditions are dangerous, we modify plans or stay at the lodge. We have alternative activities including avalanche education, technique workshops, and local sightseeing. We never compromise safety for powder — there's always another day!
