It started like many great adventures do — by accident. A ski trip to Europe fell through, and a friend suggested we try Georgia instead. "Trust me," he said. "The powder there is legendary."
That was over a decade ago. We arrived in Bakhmaro and discovered something extraordinary: waist-deep champagne powder, empty runs for days, and locals who welcomed us like family. The mountains were incredible — and completely untouched.
We realized this was a hidden gem that needed to be shared. Not just as visitors, but as stewards of this incredible terrain. So we built Steep Catskiing — a company that honors the mountains, supports the local community, and delivers unforgettable experiences.
The mountains came first, long before us and long after we'll be gone. We operate with minimal footprint and maximum respect for this pristine environment.
From hiring local guides to sourcing food from Georgian farmers, we're committed to supporting the communities that make these adventures possible.
